Delightful cookies combining rich chocolate flavors with tart cherry preserves, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cherry preserves
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place on the prepared baking sheet. Create a small indentation in each ball using your thumb.
  5. Fill each indentation with about 1/2 teaspoon of cherry preserves.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cookies are set.
  7. Melt the dark chocolate chips over low heat, then drizzle over the baked cookies.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool completely before serving.
