  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, melt the butter and stir in 1 cup sugar until combined. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add cocoa powder, flour, and salt until combined and smooth. Pour half of this mixture into the greased pan.
  4. In another bowl, beat together cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Pour the cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer in the pan, then top with the remaining brownie batter and swirl with a knife.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Let it cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

For richer flavor, use high-quality cocoa powder and cream cheese. Chill the brownies before cutting for cleaner slices.
