- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, melt the butter and stir in 1 cup sugar until combined. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth and creamy.
- Add cocoa powder, flour, and salt until combined and smooth. Pour half of this mixture into the greased pan.
- In another bowl, beat together cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer in the pan, then top with the remaining brownie batter and swirl with a knife.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let it cool before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
For richer flavor, use high-quality cocoa powder and cream cheese. Chill the brownies before cutting for cleaner slices.
