Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
  3. Beat in flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder until smooth.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  5. Let the cake cool in the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
