- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together granulated sugar, brown sugar, and butter until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until well combined.
- Roll dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are firm.
- Press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie immediately after removing from the oven.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
