Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until just combined.
- Gradually blend the flour mixture into the wet ingredients until a soft dough forms. Gently fold in the chopped cherries and chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until set but still soft in the center. Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
