  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter and mix in the granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then gradually add to the wet ingredients.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow the brownies to cool completely.
  7. For the frosting, beat together cream cheese and softened butter until smooth, then gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla until well combined.
