- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 cups green beans, trimmed and cut into 2–3 inch pieces
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, sliced
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Prep your ingredients by snapping the green beans, slicing mushrooms and onions, and cutting beef into strips.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, cornstarch, rice vinegar, sugar, and black pepper, then marinate the beef for 10-15 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of canola oil in a wok over high heat, stir-fry green beans for 1 minute, then add water, cover, and steam for 6-8 minutes until tender.
- Increase heat, add remaining oil and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds, then add onions and mushrooms, cooking for 3-4 minutes.
- Add marinated beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Combine green beans, mushrooms, and onions with the beef, stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes, adjust seasoning, and serve over rice or noodles.
Notes
For added heat, consider including red pepper flakes during cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
