Description

These cinnamon rolls are incredibly fluffy and bursting with sweet cinnamon flavor, perfect for breakfast or brunch.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup softened butter (for spreading)
  • 1 cup brown sugar (for filling)
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup raisins (optional)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the milk until warm, then stir in the yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the warm milk and yeast with granulated sugar, softened butter, eggs, and salt.
  3. Gradually add in the flour until a dough forms and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread it generously with softened butter.
  6. Mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon together and sprinkle it over the buttered dough.
  7. Add raisins if desired, then roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 rolls.
  8. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. For icing, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla together and drizzle it over warm rolls.

Notes

Store leftover cinnamon rolls in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Freeze for up to 2 months.
