Description

Delightful chocolate sugar cookies that are soft on the inside with a slightly crisp edge, dusted in powdered sugar for added sweetness.


Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup softened unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until well blended and set aside.
  3. In another large bowl, beat the butter and granulated sugar until creamy and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until fully combined.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until no flour streaks remain.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls, then coat in powdered sugar.
  7. Place the coated dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are set and centers are soft.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
