A delightful dessert combining rich chocolate flavor with a burst of fresh blueberries, topped with cream cheese frosting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  2. In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined, then gently fold in the blueberries.
  5. Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. Frost with cream cheese frosting before serving.

Notes
