- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 12 ounces rigatoni pasta
- 24 ounces marinara sauce
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and cook the rigatoni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until soft. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Drain excess fat, then stir in marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Add cooked rigatoni and mix well. Transfer to a greased baking dish and top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, use Italian sausage instead of ground beef. You can make it ahead of time and bake just before serving.
