A delicious sandwich featuring thinly sliced ribeye steak, sautéed onions and peppers, topped with provolone cheese, all in a soft hoagie roll.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 4 hoagie rolls
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add onions and bell peppers to the hot skillet. Sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced ribeye steak. Season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Return sautéed onions and bell peppers to the skillet, mixing them with the cooked steak. Allow to meld for an additional 2 minutes.
- Place the steak and vegetable mixture onto hoagie rolls, topping each with a slice of provolone cheese. Optionally melt cheese under a broiler for 1-2 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Serve the cheesesteaks hot, allowing everyone to enjoy the melted cheese and flavorful ingredients.
Notes
For best results, freeze ribeye for 30 minutes before slicing thinly. Customize with additional toppings as desired.
