Description

A delightful dish that combines classic French toast flavors with baked apples, perfect for breakfast or brunch gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 slices of bread
  • 2 apples, peeled and diced
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Butter for greasing
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Cut the bread into cubes and spread half of it in the greased baking dish. In a separate bowl, mix the diced apples with sugar and cinnamon, then layer this mixture evenly over the bread.
  3. Top the apple layer with the remaining bread cubes, creating a lovely multi-layered bake.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Pour this egg mixture evenly over the bread and apple layers. Let it sit for at least 20 minutes to soak up all the flavors.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until your Apple French Toast Bake is golden brown and puffed up.
  6. Serve warm with maple syrup drizzled on top for an unbeatable treat!

Notes
