Description

Celebrate adulthood with this stunning and delicious 18th birthday cake featuring a soft texture and sweet buttercream frosting.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • Buttercream frosting
  • Decorations (sprinkles, candles, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add to wet mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
  5. Divide batter evenly between cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, frost with buttercream and decorate as desired.
